Geohazard assessment for pipelines and other long, linear infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important requirement for major new green-field and existing infrastructure systems. RSRead Consulting Inc. has been engaged on several projects in North and South America to develop state-of-the-art geohazard assessment processes and methodologies, including spatial analysis of hazard probability considering a suite of potential geohazard mechanisms. Rational quantitative systems to support geohazard assessment is an ongoing research and development focus, as is contribution to publications such as the ASME books “Pipeline Geo-Environmental Design and Geohazard Management” (2008) and “Pipeline Geohazards: Planning, Design, Construction, and Operations” (2019), and the book “Rock Mechanics and Engineering” (2017).
