Geohazard assessment for pipelines and other long, linear infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important requirement for major new green-field and existing infrastructure systems. RSRead Consulting Inc. has been engaged on several projects in North and South America to develop state-of-the-art geohazard assessment processes and methodologies, including spatial analysis of hazard probability considering a suite of potential geohazard mechanisms. Software development to support geohazard assessment is an ongoing research and development focus, as is contribution to publications such as the ASME books “Pipeline Geo-Environmental Design and Geohazard Management” (2008) and Pipeline Geohazards: Planning, Design, Construction, Operation (to be released in 2017), and the book “Rock Mechanics and Engineering” (in press).
